Laos 🇱🇦

Laos, officially known as the Lao People's Democratic Republic (Lao PDR or LPDR), is a country located in Southeast Asia. The capital and largest city is Vientiane.

The country has a population of about 7 million people and its official language is Lao. The currency is the Kip issued in denominations of 500, 1,000, 2,000, 5,000, 10,000, 20,000, 50,000 and 100,000 notes.

Laos is known for its natural beauty and cultural heritage, with many Buddhist temples.

Luang Prabang was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in December 1994.

Off the beaten track, Laos is also popular for its caves, which I had the opportunity to explore a few of them during my self-drive trip in December 2019.
